SNAP
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the former Food Stamps program. Recipients of SNAP receive an electronic EBT card (like a debit card) to use in authorized grocery stores.
In order to qualify, you must meet income requirements ($15,444 less/year or $1316/month gross for a single person), work 20 hours per week and/or have a child at home. Further details can be found on the Colorado Food Assistance website. The application for SNAP is available on the Colorado PEAK site and only takes 5-10 minutes to complete.
WIC
Women, Infants & Children
Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides supplemental foods, amongst other benefits, to low-income families composed of either a pregnant, breastfeeding, or non-breastfeeding post-partum woman with children up to the age of 5. (The woman can be married.) The maximum annual income starts at $21,978 for a single woman. Additional information can be found on Colorado's Benefits.gov site.
