Food, Flowers and Farmers Markets

Hello, May!

April showers are almost finished and with the end of this month will come not only May flowers, but also the start of many of these fun summer festivities:

FOCO FARMERS' MARKET

Sundays, 10am-2pm (starting May 5th)

The summer season is fast approaching so that means the

Fort Collins Farmers Market is almost upon us!

The opening day will be on May 5th from 10am-2pm. Many local vendors will be in attendance and selling their homemade or locally grown products.

Though it is early in the summer fruit and vegetable season, there will still be loads of fresh, local produce for sale.

There will be many samples of breads, pastries, fruits and coffee available. Also, if you receive SNAP, you can go to the SNAP/Extension booth near the county building to request Double Bucks. The best way to do this would be to walk through the market and estimate how much you would be likely to spend on the goods available, then pay half the amount at the SNAP booth. For example, if you were estimating to spend a total of $10, you would pay $5 and receive $10 in vouchers for the market.

This market will run all summer long on Sundays from 10am-2pm. Grab some buddies, a few reusable bags and stock up on fresh summer goods.

Food Trucks and MORE!

Tuesdays, 5:30pm-dusk (starting May 14th)

Also starting back up in early May is the Fort Collins Food Truck Rally!

This event will kick off on Tuesday May 14th and goes from 5:30-dusk. The event features a ton of yummy, unique food trucks and even has live music starting at 6pm. What’s better?!

The rally will take place at City Park every Tuesday until September 24. The music lineup and more information on the featured trucks can be found on the website (click here).

Northern Colorado Cinco de Mayo Festival

Saturday May 4- Sunday May 5

Cinco de Mayo is a much anticipated event happening in May. A celebration full of good company and even better food- now that’s hard to beat.

Beginning Saturday May 4th and continuing into Sunday May 5th is the 2019 Northern Colorado Cinco de Mayo Festival. The event will run from

10am-10pm on Saturday and 11am-7pm on Sunday and will feature many activities ranging from food vendors and beer gardens to free Zumba in Old Town Square and face painting.

The event is designed to be inclusive for all ages and all backgrounds. Bring the whole family or a group of pals and join us at The 2019 NOCO Cinco de Mayo festival.

FOODIE WALK

Every 3rd Friday (next will be May 17)

Now that the weather is turning and the sun is shining bright, it's the perfect weather for the Fort Collins Foodie Walk. Every 3rd Friday, featured restaurants and bars around town stay open later and offer specials to the public. This event is FREE and self guided, so it provides the perfect opportunity to mosey around downtown, dine on some FREE unique small bites (think finger foods), and enjoy the company of other local foodies.

CSU Mobile Pantry

Thursday, May 2nd, 4pm-6pm

The last CSU Mobile Pantry date is coming up next Thursday, May 2nd. The event will take place on West University Ave, next to the Lory Student Center and Morgan Library parking lot. Anyone with a valid CSU ID (can be student, faculty, staff) is eligible to receive food. Bring any bags or boxes you may have available to help transport all the goods you receive. If you've never been and want advice on what to expect at the pantry, check out our advice here.

As always, check our Pantries page for the food pantries' hours and eligibility requirements each week.
